MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME)
For centuries, mechanical engineers have helped shape the world. They shape our future as well, developing the mechanical systems of tomorrow. Their innovations range from the nanoscale to the macroscale, from biomedical devices designed to improve a person’s quality of life to new energy systems using alternative and renewable resources. With a master’s in Mechanical Engineering degree from Villanova’s College of Engineering, you can help the global society overcome technological challenges.

Specific areas of study focus on solid mechanics, thermal and fluid sciences, material sciences and manufacturing, dynamics and control, mechatronics, robotics, and energy systems.

Mechanical Engineering Courses include:

  • Materials Characterization
  • Transport Phenomena in Biological Systems
  • Robotics: Analysis & Control
  • Thermal Management of Electronics
  • Control Systems Engineering
  • Nonlinear Dynamics
  • Solar Thermal Energy Conversion

In addition, the following engineering certificate programs are offered:

  • Electro-Mechanical Systems
  • Machinery Dynamics
  • Thermofluid Systems
